President: Iran is not seeking Atomic bomb
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Tehran, Dec 2, IRNA – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, referring to IAEA’s recent resolution against Iran’s peaceful nuclear program, said there is no room for atomic bomb either in our defense doctrine or in our industrial and economic programs.
Speaking in an interview with the Iranian TV Tuesday night, the president said what the western countries say about Iran’s ambitions to make atomic bombs is irrelevant.
Referring to Iran’s recent interactions with IAEA, President Ahmadinejad said, ”We suggested that we exchange low-enriched uranium with high-enriched uranium.”
“ IAEA is duty bound to give fuel to Iran without any conditions. Exchange of 400 or 1,200 kg of fuel does not matter for us, because we have the technology of uranium enrichment.”
The president criticized those who inside Iran made a hue and cry on the exchange plan and added certain circles in the west were also against it.
“We never victimize the prestige of the Iranian nation in any deal,” the president said.
