Five detained British sailors released

Tehran, Dec 2, IRNA -- The five British sailors recently arrested for illegal entry into the Iranian waters were released Wednesday moring, said a report by the Public Relations Office of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC).
The report quoted a statement by Iran's coastal guards on the Siri Island in the Persian Gulf.
It said that the five were released "hours ago" and after it had become clear that they entered the Iranian territory "by mistake."
The five were arrested near the Siri Island.
The statement added that they were released "after giving due commitments."
