Iran critical of Russian yes vote to IAEA's anti-Iran Resolution

IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Tehran, Dec 1, IRNA -- Iran on Tuesday criticized Russia for the yes vote for anti-Iran Resolution of the International Atomic Energy Agency's Board of Governors on Novermber 27.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said that Moscow’s yes vote to the IAEA’s "unfair resolution against Iran’s peaceful nuclear program is open to question".

He told reporters in his weekly press briefing, “We have had regular consultations and talks with Russians about our country’s peaceful nuclear program; and Moscow is well familiar with the legal and peaceful nature of the activities.”

"Regarding Russians’ insight and information as well as the clear and transparent logic of Iran on its legal and legitimate right to have peaceful nuclear technology, Russia’s recent move is open to question and the country should be accountable for its move and clarify its stance," said Mehmanparast.

He deplored that such measures would harm the IAEA Board of Governors’ reputation and hoped that the countries, weakening position of the international institutions by their unfair and discriminatory vote, should once again consider their false decision.
