IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Tehran, Nov 25, IRNA -- Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei said here Wednesday that no threat will work against the Islamic Republic system as long as Basijis (volunteer forces) remain on the scene.

“Leveling charges and rumors against officials will serve enemies' wishes. As long as Basij is there, no threat can target the system,” said Ayatollah Khamenei in an address to thousands of Basijis.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Leader advised the mass media, political activists and officials to avoid minor and unprincipled differences.

“Today, the main priority of the country is confronting the soft war staged by the enemies that aims to sow discord and spread pessimism. The key to thwart the threat is maintaining and promoting insight, uplifting spirit of Basiji forces and be hopeful of the future,” said Ayatollah Khamenei, while hailing Basij as the bastion of national resistance and dignity.

Ayatollah Khamenei said enemies have now staged a soft war and therfore the main priority is to thwart the soft war.

The Supreme Leader said it is necessary to make a distinction between people from various walks of life and those few “sold-out” individuals, advising the public to avoid making provocative comments that may make spread pessimism about the elite and officials.
