Voting extended by one hour

Tehran, June 12, IRNA -- Voting in the 10th Presidential Elections was extended nationwide by one hour due to the high voter turnout even in the final hours of balloting on Friday, according to the State Elections Headquarters.
The Elections Headquarters' statement, broadcast on state TV, said the time was extended because of the high voter turnout.
Polling began nationwide at 08:00 hours local time (0330 GMT) and was to end at 18:00 (13:30) hours on Friday to elect the country's next president but it was extended until 19:00 (14:30) hours due to high voter participation.
Four candidates, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Mir-Hossein Mousavi, Mehdi Karroubi and Mohsen Rezaie, are running in the race.
