IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Beijing, April 20, IRNA – The United Nations nuclear watchdog’s chief Mohammed ElBaradei said on Monday that to solve the row over Iran’s nuclear program, the US had to take the first step.
The International Atomic Energy Agency chief made the remarks while responding to an IRNA reporter during a press conference held at the end of an international conference on nuclear energy.
He stressed the need for finding a peaceful solution for Iran’s nuclear dispute with the West.
Iran is entitled to use nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, ElBaradei said, adding that the international community has also the right to make sure that Tehran’s nuclear activities are peaceful.
The IAEA’s chief stressed that all disputes could easily be resolved by good-will and moving on the right path.
He further suggested Iran to implement the Additional Protocol to the Nuclear Safeguards Agreements something which was previously done by Iran voluntarily for two years from 2003-2005.
