Army enjoys technology to produce advanced aircraft: Commander
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Tehran, April 12, IRNA -- Commander of the Islamic Republic Army Major General Ata’ollah Salehi said on Sunday that the Iranian Army possessed the technology to produce advanced aircraft and would demonstrate its powerful presence even in the open seas in a near future.
Addressing a number of graduated cadets in a regular army academy downtown Tehran, the major general said that the progress made by Iranian experts in producing advanced defensive weapons has stemmed from the strong will and faith of the Iranian nation.
Referring to the threats made against Iran, particularly during the several past years, Salehi said, most of those threats were triggered by outsiders.
He stressed that enemies were afraid of the Islamic Iran because of its deterrent power which would serve both the Islamic world and all freedom-seekers of the globe.
Salehi’s comments came a few days ahead of the National Army Day which is to be held nationwide on April 18.
