IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Tehran, Feb 25, IRNA - Head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization Reza Aqazadeh said that 36 percent of the equipment used in Bushehr power plant is Iranian-made.
Stating that a large section of the equipment remained in German and Italian ports and were not supplied to Iran, he said at a joint press conference with Chief of the Russia’s state nuclear company Rosatom, Sergei Kiriyenko that some 24 percent of the equipment utilized in the project is German and 40 percent Russian.
Based on the agreement inked earlier, Russia is committed to launch the project within a year, he said, assuring that there is no concern regarding its commissioning.
A nuclear plant should undergo all the tests carefully, he said, noting that Iran will not allow Russia to adopt hasty measures in this respect.
Kiriyenko, for his part, said that cooperation between Iran and Russia are taking place within the frameworks of international laws and is not against NPT.
More than 97 percent of the equipment has been installed and the remaining will be put in place once the results of the tests are clarified, he said.
