Air Force chief announces greater flight range of fighter aircraft

Tehran, Feb 3, IRNA -- Commander of the Air Force Brigadier General Hassan Shah-Safi said on Tuesday that the Iranian air force is in good offensive combat readiness and has successfully increased the flight rage of its fighters to over 2,000 km.
Speaking to IRNA, he said, "We are in the best military position and all equipment and apparatus are in their optimum use."
The new version of radar evading plane will record its test flight in the first half of the next Iranian year (to begin in March), said the commander.
"We are now conducting air refueling system which should be regarded as the best achievements of this year," said the commander.
On recent threats of the Zionist regime on Iran, he said, "What happened during the 33-day war in Lebanon as well as the 22-day of war in Gaza indicate that they are very desperate to materialize their threats and we are in full combat readiness."
Mass production of fighter jests dubbed as Azarakhsh and Saeghe has been completed and the new version of radar evading planes will be mass produced in the near future following test flights.
Iranian Air Force has successfully test fired heat-seeking air to air missiles with new capabilities, he pointed out.
