Iran-5+1-Nuclear
Government Spokesman Gholam-Hossein Elham said here Saturday that the talks between Iran and the Group 5+1 will be based on common grounds of both sides' packages of proposals on nuclear issue.
Responding to a question by a reporter on a short-term suspension of uranium enrichment during negotiations with the Group 5+1 (the US, Russia, France, the UK and China plus Germany), he said in his weekly briefing that the indisputable right of the Iranian nation will never be compromised in talks with the Group 5+1 on peaceful nuclear program.
Iran and the Group 5+1 provided their own package of proposals, he said, adding that if negotiations are to resume, the most rational way is that both sides should study common grounds of the two packages and that the Islamic Republic of Iran has expressed its readiness for holding talks in this respect.
The spokesman also underlined that the Iranian nation is opposed to imposing ideas of one group on the international community, noting that world nations cannot accept hegemony of one special group or government over global affairs.
Pointing to the fact that the principle stances of the Islamic Republic of Iran have not changed, he said that Tehran is ready to negotiate on international issues.
Responding to another question whether Iran would propose setting up a consortium for joint uranium enrichment, he said that gone is the time for some proposals and that both sides should look for new horizons in this regard.
Elsewhere in his remarks, he said that the fake Zionist regime is held responsible for abducting four Iranian diplomats in Lebanon, and that a team from Ministry of Foreign Affairs is tasked with following up the fate of the abducted diplomats.
