Deputy Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps General Mohammad Hejazi said late Tuesday that Iran's defensive power will foil recent threats by enemies and foreigners.
"Though under present conditions, the enemies have stepped up anti-Iran threats and claims, their plots will be futile. Iran's defense preparedness and power will prevent recent threats by enemies and foreigners from becoming effective," Hejazi said in an address to a group of war veterans.
He predicted that present round of presidential elections will culminate in an end to reign of the US neo-conservatives.
"They (the US neo-conservatives) will not be able to launch a new scheme to encounter Iran," he said.
He said that today, Americans are facing enormous problems in Iraq and Afghanistan and they will never think of planning any further attack on another country.
He added that the only way to face enemies is to maintain preparedness and the nation and the IRGC and combatant forces should be vigilant enough to face any threat.
"Enemies surely know that any action they take will not go without a response," he added.
