Hosseini: Iran's doctrine provides no room to diversion in nuclear program

IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Manama, Jan 30, IRNA
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Mohammad-Ali Hosseini said here Wednesday that in Iran's doctrine there is no room for diverting Iran's peaceful nuclear program towards other objectives.

Hosseini made the remark in a meeting with Bahraini Vice Speaker of parliament and the head and members of the Foreign Affairs, Defense and National Security Commission of Bahrain's parliament.

He said to the Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has issued a religious decree to that effect and it is obligatory to abide by it.

He added that all Iran's measures have always been in accordance with the international regulations and under direct supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency.

He noted that there were certain minor ambiguities on issues which were clarified by extension of necessary proofs and evidence and the IAEA also confirmed them.

The Iranian official said he hoped for expansion of cooperation and relations among regional Muslim states, especially in the parliamentary domain.

Vice Speaker of Bahraini parliament Ghanem al-Buainain said for his part that the visit of Iranian delegation, headed by Hosseini, to Bahrain will give an impetus to mutual ties and cooperation.

Head of Bahraini Foreign Policy Commission Sheikh Adel al-Moawedah said for his part that Iran is a big power and the region should benefit from advantages and facilities of such a powerful state for its development.

He also condemned the US' hostile approach towards Iran and double-standards towards the country's peaceful nuclear program.

He said, "Unfortunately, we are witnessing that the occupying regime of Qods is threatening Muslim inhabitants of the region and the Palestinian nation by violating all the international regulations and the IAEA Safeguards and while possessing hundreds of nuclear warheads.

The Zionist entity commits fresh crimes in the case of Muslims but the US supports it instead of backing the oppressed Palestinian nation."

He said Muslim world public opinion and the nation and government of Bahrain have always been standing by the great Iranian nation and supports Iran's peaceful nuclear activities.

Stressing de-escalation of tension among regional states and Iran, the speaker said, "All Muslim states should move in line with development and progress of the region and cooperate to build confidence and show respect to Iran. The states are also needed to pave necessary the way for the creation of new opportunities in the political, cultural and economic sectors as well."
