Presence of US forces around Iran imperils them

Presence of US troops around Iran has imperiled them as they are within the reach of Iran's medium range rockets, a military commander told Al-Jazeera television on Saturday.
Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Mohammad-Ali Jafari told the Arabic language network in an exclusive interview that presence of the US forces in regional states around Iran "is a weak point for them."
"They know well that they are within the direct reach of Iran's long-range weapons and its medium range rockets. Therefore, their presence in Iran's neighboring states is not a strong point for them but quite to the opposite. This is a week point and it is a military analysis which was also mentioned by an American analyst," the commander said.
Dismissing the possibility of US ground attack against Iran, the commander said, "We believe that US is almost unlikely to embark on ground attack against Iran. American troops and their policy-makers are wise enough not to make such a mistake as Iran is not Iraq." "Iranians will never allow foreigners to bring their troops into Iranian territory. Iranians have proved it throughout their long history that they stay united against foreign aggressors," Jafari stressed.
