IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Vienna, Jan 13, IRNA
Iran's Ambassador to International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Ali Asghar Soltanieh said on Sunday that IAEA Director General Mohamed ElBaradei ushered in a new chapter for cooperation between Iran and the UN agency.

He told IRNA after returning from Tehran, that during ElBaradei's talks with Iranian officials, the two parties reviewed mutual cooperation over the past several years and discussed how to speed up cooperation aimed to resolve remaining issues in line with the Modality Plan by March.

Iranian officials once again underlined the country's legitimate rights in benefiting from peaceful nuclear energy mainly uranium enrichment and the fuel cycle, he said.

Soltanieh made it clear that Iran regards IAEA as the only professional body which is authorized to examine nuclear programs of the member states including Iran.

Iran and IAEA are to continue their professional talks as per time table, he said adding that Iran would do its best to resolve the remaining issues until the next meeting of the Board of Governors.
