Tehran, Dec 17, IRNA
Leadership envoy in the Supreme National Security Council Ali Larijani said here Monday that shipment of the first consignment of fuel from Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant by Russia is a positive measure.
"The issue will have influence on the G5+1 meeting; the impact, however, is not an extraordinary one," said Larijani in an interview on the sidelines of the Seminar of Basij and Soft Power here Monday.
He said, "We follow a path with a political dimension. Each of these has some sort of capacity to ease the political dispute." Asked about impact of fuel shipment on sanctions, Larijani said, "With regards to the issue (I should say) other tactics are needed because the capacity of our diplomacy is not limited to issues such as the fuel shipment. The capacity can be extensive."
The leadership envoy said talks with the EU Foreign Policy Chief Javier Solana can continue. "An active diplomacy to start talks with the G5+1 can help solve Iran's nuclear issue."
Elsewhere in the interview, Larijani said, "The fuel of Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant and the issue of enrichment are two different categories. The issue of Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant's fuel is not a new issue and plans had already been adopted for its shipment and the shipment project started as of today."
He said the issue of enrichment and nuclear knowledge fall in different categories and linking the two with each other does not seem to be very rational.
