NIE report proves Washington's mistake vis-a-vis Iran
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Tehran, Dec 4, IRNA
The Islamic Republic of Iran has repeatedly announced that its peaceful nuclear program is aimed at meeting the country's growing needs for energy but Washington, along with several western states, sent Iran's nuclear case to the UN Security Council by ignoring all facts and reasoning.
The US National Intelligence Estimate (NIE) report was issued on Monday, only few weeks after the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) presented its report, confirming peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear program.
The NIE report, by denying its previous report, said, "We do not know whether it (Iran) currently intends to develop nuclear weapons." The NIE's previous report had claimed that Iran was certainly seeking pursuance of nuclear bombs.
US media, in several reports quoting Reuters wrote that the NIE report was "in contrast with the allegations made by the Bush administration."
Reuters has confirmed that the recent NIE report is fully in contrast with the previous one issued two years ago. The NIE previous report accused Iran of intending to produce nuclear weapons.
