Iran-US-5+1-Spokesman
Government spokesman, Gholam-Hossein Elham said on Tuesday that Washington efforts to pressure Iran and its lobbying for economic sanctions indicated its weakness and isolation.
Addressing his weekly press briefing, he said, "Other members of the Group 5+1 are trying to get rid of the US unusual and illogical pressures."
The US anti-Iran measures indicated success of Iran's peaceful nuclear program, Elham said adding, "Such pressures prove the lack of logic on part of the US regarding Iran's peaceful nuclear activities." He assured that such US hegemonic attempts would fail.
On the issue of fuel for Bushehr nuclear power plant, he said the fuel would be dispatched by Russia soon.
Elham added that the whole process of fuel dispatching has been under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
Responding to a question on whether Tehran would discuss suspension of its enrichment with the IAEA, he said, "Such issues, which belong to the past, will not be discussed any more." On future talks to be held between EU Foreign Policy chief Javier Solana and Iran's Secretary of Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Saeed Jalili, Elham said, "Jalili will set forth new ideas and initiatives with Solana."
Jalili and Solana are to meet in London on November 30.
