Supreme Leader's Representative to Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Larijani on Tuesday ruled out the idea that Iran is passing crisis period, but, said the situation is sensitive.
Speaking in a question-and-answer session with students of Isfahan Industrial University, Larijani said that Iranian active diplomacy has achieved success for the nuclear program.
"Under present conditions, no one can ignore Iran in the region." He said that Iran supports democracy in Iraq and believes in strengthening the democratic government of Iraq.
Larijani said that consultations on Iraq security in the context of tripartite talks in Baghdad are useful to promote Iraqi national security and democracy.
He said that Iran follows the best strategy over Iraq and backs democracy in the country, whereas the other neighboring states were anxious about supporting Iraqi democratic government.
Larijani said that Iran is committed to the religious obligations which prohibit weapons of mass destruction (WMDs) and that Iranian nuclear program is only for producing electricity Iran needs for development.
He said that Iran respected the religious obligation during Iraqi chemical attacks against Iran in 1980s and never even thought about such a weapon to avenge Saddam's heinous crimes against Iranian soldiers.
