Haddad-Adel: Tehran to continue cooperation with IAEA

IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Tehran, Nov 26, IRNA
Iran-IAEA-Cooperation
Iranian Parliament (Majlis) Speaker Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel said on Monday that Iran will continue cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) within the framework of international regulations.

According to the Press and News Department of the Majlis, Haddad-Adel made the remark in meeting with Dutch Ambassador to Tehran Radnik van Vollenhoven.

The speaker added that intimidation and adoption of irrational attitudes towards Iran will not help solve the nuclear standoff.

Europe's interests lie in their adoption of independent stance on Iran and refraining from repeating the US allegations against the Iranian nation, he noted.

Washington, concerned about the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, has opposed the Islamic system under various pretexts.

Haddad-Adel also noted that Iran and the Netherlands enjoy historical relations, and expressed satisfaction with the increase in bilateral economic and commercial exchanges in recent years.

He further said that there are various grounds for bolstering of economic and industrial cooperation particularly in the fields of energy, oil, gas, agriculture and water resources.

Elsewhere in his remarks, he pointed to the history of crisis in Palestine, the US policy in the Middle East and the so-called peace conference in Annapolis, saying that any unjust decision will never lead to peace and stability in the region.

The Dutch envoy, for his part, described mutual ties as very satisfactory, and expressed his country's determination to expand relations with Iran.

Vollenhoven also said that his country is against exerting pressure on Iran, and Amsterdam calls for resolving the
country's nuclear issue through negotiations.

He also underlined the importance of expanding bilateral parliamentary relations.
