The latest report of the UN nuclear watchdog's chief on Iran's peaceful nuclear activities has closed a previous case on the country's P1 and P2 centrifuges, government spokesman, Gholam-Hossein Elham said on Tuesday.

on November 15, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Mohamed ElBaradei presented a report on Iran's peaceful nuclear activities confirming that its explanations on P1 and P2 centrifuges conformed with IAEA information.

ElBaradei also stressed in the report that the agency has been able to verify the "non-diversion of declared nuclear material in Iran."

"The report has made it clear that referring the case of Iran's peaceful nuclear activities to the UN Security Council is illegal, therefore, there is no more reason for sending the case to the council," Elham said.

Speaking to reporters at his weekly press conference, Elham termed the report "positive.

Stressing that Tehran would continue its cooperation with the IAEA, Elham said, "As we intend to continue our technical and legal cooperation with the agency, Iran's nuclear issue should be discussed in Vienna and not in New York."
