Head of Iran's Strategic Foreign Policy Council Kamal Kharrazi on Saturday termed the recent report released by IAEA Chief Mohamed ElBaradei on Iran's nuclear dossier as 'positive' and said in order to properly conclude the case, it should be referred to IAEA.
Speaking to IRNA on the sidelines of a conference on dialogue between Iran and Arabs, he said the recent report issued by ElBaradei is considered as a success for Iran's resistance in defending its peaceful nuclear activities.
The IAEA played an independent role in resolving Iran's nuclear dossier, he pointed out.
"We hope the IAEA report will help resolve Iran's issue through dialogue and not through exertion of pressure by the United Nations Security Council," Kharrazi underlined.
The IAEA report will affect interferences of the UNSC in Iran's nuclear dossier, Kharrazi pointed out.
IAEA is the only body entitled to review and resolve Iran's nuclear activities, and referring the dossier to UNSC was a grave mistake, Kharrazi said.
"I think the report released by ElBaradei would seriously impede European countries' decision to push for the third UNSC resolution against Iran," Kharrazi said.
