Iran ready for nuclear cooperation with regional states: Mottaki

IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Tehran, Nov 14, IRNA
Iran-Bahrain-Mottaki
Iran is ready to cooperate with regional countries in the field of nuclear activities, Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said on Wednesday.

Bahraini website of Al-Ayam quoted Mottaki as saying that there is no particular problem between Iran and the West on nuclear case, and Iran continues with peaceful nuclear program based on international laws and regulations.

Iran has accepted the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and is working in the framework of the treaty to produce nuclear energy, thus will never allow other countries to interfere in its indisputable right, he added.

Mottaki said that efforts made by the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (PGCC) and other nations in order to produce nuclear fuel are considered a important and necessary step.

He noted that the idea of fuel production in Iran with the participation of PGCC member states is worth of study.

Pointing to the US and the European skeptical view toward Iran's nuclear program, he added that Tehran has declared that they would ask any question via different organizations and the Islamic Republic of Iran will transparently respond to them.

The two sides have raised questions through the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and Iran addressed their remaining concerns on the peaceful nature of its nuclear activities, he said.
