IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Tehran, Nov 11, IRNA
Iran-Spokesman-Nuclear
Foreign Ministry Spokesman Mohammad-Ali Hosseini said on Sunday that Iran is ready to put its expertise on nuclear technology at disposal of other countries.

Hosseini addressing reporters at his weekly press briefing, underlined that within the framework of the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and under supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Iran is prepared to put its expertise on nuclear technology at disposal of other states.

Responding to a question on negotiations between Iran and the US on Iraq's security, he said that in order to hold the talks necessary preparations should be made.

The Islamic Republic of Iran views the talks as a way to help the Iraqi people, he noted.

Pointing to the fact that the latest rounds of talks were held at the official invitation of the Iraqi government and the US, he said that the next round of negotiations should follow the same procedure.

He also replied to a question about the kidnapping of a Japanese student in Iran by bandits, and said the kidnapped Japanese national is in good health condition.

Hosseini added that according to the latest information, the Japanese national has been moved to different points along the border but Iranian security personnel are doing their best to secure his release.

The spokesman expressed hope that he would be freed as soon as possible.
