Government spokesman Gholam-Hossein Elham said here Saturday that the just resigned top nuclear negotiator Ali Larijani may also attend talks with the European Union foreign policy chief, Javier Solana in Rome, Italy, on Tuesday.
He told reporters during his weekly press briefing, "Larijani may attend the talks. Jalili and Larijani, together, may participate in the meeting or Jalili may attend the talks alone."
"The main issue is continuation of the talks and followup of the policies," he added.
"Mr Larijani resigned for personal reasons but it does not mean that the policies and programs would be changed. The main policies will be followed up with a common approach," he said.
"It is not important what the form of the work would be or who would be the negotiator, but the main point is that any one who negotiates, is a representative of the system and everything proceeds within the framework of the policies," Elham noted.
Elham said in response to a question that Saeed Jalili, Deputy Foreign Minister for Euro-American affairs would probably replace Larijani.
