Russian President Vladimir Putin speaking at a joint press conference on the sidelines of the second Caspian Sea littoral states summit here Tuesday underlined that Russia is to continue nuclear cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Iran and Russia are now cooperating on wide range of issues such as aviation industry and Russia is to continue its contribution to Iran's peaceful nuclear program, Putin said.
In the final statement signed by five heads of states, all countries voiced their commitments to non proliferation of nuclear arms and maintained that the Caspian Sea littoral states should merely be engaged in peaceful nuclear activities, he underlined.
The presidents of five Caspian Sea littoral states attended the day-long summit exchanging views on how to find a way for fair use by all neighboring states of the sea's natural resources.
The participants of the summit signed a 25-article declaration and a statement at the end of their day-long summit in Tehran on Tuesday.
Speaking at a joint press conference after the summit, they called the gathering as "positive."
