Iran rejects rumor about possible assassination plot against Putin

IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Tehran, Oct 15, IRNA
Putin-Visit-Rumor
Spokesman of Iranian foreign ministry on Sunday evening categorically rejected a rumor propagated by certain media about a possible terrorist attempt against Russian President Vladimir Putin during his forthcoming visit to Tehran.

Spokesman Mohammad-Ali Hosseini called the rumor as absolutely baseless and in line with psychological efforts by those who are against good Iran-Russia relations.

Hosseini said such a worthless and wrong piece of news cannot affect the scheduled visit of the Russian president to Tehran.

Certain Western media on Sunday evening reported a rumor about a possible assassination plot against Putin during his visit to Tehran which will start on Tuesday.

Also earlier some sources had reported about efforts made by the Zionist and Western intelligence services to overshadow Putin's visit to Tehran to attend the important summit of the Caspian Sea littoral states.
