The enemy will be hit back in shortest possible time in case of any military attack, advisor to Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Major General Yahya Rahim-Safavi said on Tuesday.
"The enemy will face strong armed forces especially the Basij (volunteer forces) if it unleashed a military attack on Iran," he said.
He said that the US has been entangled in quagmire in Iraq and cannot easily survive.
A special ceremony was held to appreciate Major General Rahim Safavi's 10-year service as commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC).
He said that any US action will be repulsed by 20-million Basij members organized by the IRGC.
The IRGC served as command council of the Basij during eight-year US-backed imposed war on Iran (1980-1988).
