Iran-IAEA-Inspectors
IAEA Inspectors inspected on Monday the 40 gawatts Nuclear Research Reactor in Arak facilities, an official said.
Speaking on condition of anonymity, he said the inspection took about five hours.
The inspection occurred following recent agreement reached between Iran and IAEA to resolve the remaining issues on Iran's nuclear program, he said.
Following issuance of UNSC resolution 1747 against Iran's peaceful nuclear programs, Tehran suspended the clause 3-1 of IAEA Safeguard Agreements.
Iran's decision deprived the IAEA inspectors of access to Arak facilities, but following the proposal made by Iran's top nuclear negotiator Ali Larijani in Madrid on resolving the remaining issues with IAEA, once again Tehran proved its good will and let the IAEA inspectors visit Arak heavy water plant.
Arak project is to substitute Tehran Research Reactor to provide isotopes for more than 200 hospitals in the country.
