Iran's top nuclear negotiator Ali Larijani and the EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana here Saturday night described talks over Iran's peaceful nuclear program "constructive." Iran's secretary of Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) and Solana held a four-hour meeting on Iran's nuclear case. It was the third round of talks between the two sides.

At the end of the meeting, Solana and Larijani stressed they would continue the negotiations and hold a similar meeting on Iran's peaceful nuclear program within the next three weeks.

The two sides did not give any information on the venue of their next round of talks.

"We reached a primary agreement in political terms during our meeting held in Madrid three weeks ago to accomplish an outcome on ways to settle issues with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)," Larijani said.

He assessed his talks with Solana "good" and added, "After the Madrid meeting, our deputies held an expert level session in Vienna. Then I met with the IAEA Director-General Mohamed ElBaradei in Vienna on Friday."

Iran's top nuclear negotiator said he and ElBaradei agreed to settle the remaining issues with the IAEA over the country's peaceful nuclear case within the next two months.

"We will continue our cooperation with the IAEA to achieve a comprehensive solution," he stated.

He added, "Talks with Solana will help cooperation in this path and prepare the ground for an understanding. We will hold a session in three weeks to discuss the outcomes of the trend."

He reiterated that joint efforts between the two sides would prepare a good ground for further talks and settle dispute over Iran's peaceful nuclear activities.

Larijani is accompanied by two of his deputies Javad Vaeedi and Ali Monfared; Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Abbas Araqchi; and deputy head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Mohammad Saeedi.
