Iranian ambassador to IAEA Ali Asghar Soltanieh on Thursday called for Iranian case to be dropped from agenda of the Board of Governors.
He said, in his address to the Board of Governors that in light of several reports of IAEA Director General Mohamed ElBaradei, Iran has made no diversion from the NPT and Safeguards, so, there is no reason for Iranian case to remain on agenda of the Board.
"This is not the first time that the UN nuclear agency verifies non-diversion of Iranian nuclear program. The agency has done so several times in the past four year."
Soltanieh said that the Safeguards Implementation Report (SIR) has also verified that the materials mentioned in the former reports to be used at Iranian nuclear sites all are for civilian purpose.
He criticized the agency for bringing the phrase of "Iran's undeclared activities" in some of the reports as "misleading the international community" and said that the NPT did not require Iran to declare construction of a building before bringing nuclear materials there.
Soltanieh said that all parts of Iranian nuclear program have been in the context of NPT and the Safeguards Agreement of the Agency.
