Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said here Tuesday the West would gradually understand that adoption of different resolutions would not be an appropriate solution to the "misunderstanding" over Iran's peaceful nuclear case.

Addressing ambassadors of Arab states to Tehran, he said, "The necessity of adopting a logical solution arises day by day." He added, "Establishment of a consortium to enrich uranium in Iran will be an effective way to increase confidence. In that case, negotiations will focus on non-diversion."

He also said Iran attaches significance to preservation of Iraq's national unity and territorial integrity, adding, "This is the reason we have accepted to hold talks with the US on Iraq in Baghdad and in presence of Iraqi officials."

Mottaki cited instability and continuation of Iraq's occupation as two main problems of the country, saying, "Crisis in Iraq will cause concerns for all."

Pointing to common interests and concerns of Iran and Arab countries, the minister highlighted the importance of continuing consultations between the two parties.

He stressed on Iran's cooperation with the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (PGCC) states, the Arab League and the Arab Parliament.

Mottaki stated signing an agreement on free trade with the PGCC, Iran's observer membership at the Arab League and expansion of cooperation with the Arab Parliament are among first steps to begin new bilateral cooperation.

He said clashes between Fatah al-Islam fighters and the Lebanese army would complicate the Lebanese crisis.
