Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki here Tuesday expressed hope that the parties involved would reach a comprehensive solution to ongoing standoff over Iran's peaceful nuclear case.
Mottaki was speaking in a joint press conference with the African Union Commission chief and former president of Mali Alpha Omar Konare.
"We hope we will achieve a broad-based solution to nuclear case through negotiations within the frameworks of diplomatic norms," he said.
He added a comprehensive solution would preserve Iran's interests and inalienable right to access peaceful nuclear technology and would take into account necessary mechanisms to ensure no diversion and removal of possible concerns of the other party.
The minister described as "more constructive" new round of talks between deputy of Iran's Secretary of Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) for international affairs Javad Vaeedi and representative of the Group 5+1 (the five permanent members of the UN Security Council -- Russia, Britain, France, China, the US -- plus Germany), held in Vienna on Monday.
"We receive evaluations from different states indicating that there is determination to resolve the nuclear issue. We assess the case as positive," Mottaki said.
He stated Monday talks were held to follow up negotiations held between the SNSC Secretary Ali Larijani and the EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana in Madrid on May 31 and pave the way for the next round of bilateral negotiations.
He said date and venue of future talks between Larijani and Solana would be announced with the next two weeks.
