MP Alaeddin Boroujerdi said on Thursday that the recent report of the Director General of the International tomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Muhamed ElBaradei on Iran proved that Tehran has attained industrial scale of producing nuclear fuel.

Chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of Majlis also told IRNA that declaration of the issue by ElBaradei highlights necessity of new form of engagement with Iran and is a positive point of his report on Tehran's nuclear activities.

The significance of discarding the issues of enrichment and plutonium from the IAEA agenda is among other positive points of the report, the MP said that the two issues were used by the West as the lever over the past two years to launch adverse propaganda against Iran's nuclear activities.

"Discarding the issue of plutonium enrichment from the IAEA agenda shows that segment of ambiguity regarding Iran's nuclear program has been solved," he added.

"Elbaradei referred to the IAEA inspections of Arak Research Reactor as well as current restrictions in that respect, but the Agency monitors the center via satellites and has discovered improvements by Iranians in this field."

The MP, who represents Boroujerd in the Majlis, noted that the limitations in the way of IAEA inspection on the center are within the framework of the nuclear rights of Iran.

Assessing the recent report of Elbaradei on Iran's nuclear program as positive, he added that the report underlines Tehran has refuted the demands of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions on suspension of its nuclear activities, noting that according to the confirmed stances of the country, such demands are unacceptable by the Islamic Republic.

"According to Elbaradei's report on the amount of hexaflouride of uranium at Isfahan complex and injection of gas to centrifuges as well as uranium enrichment at 4.8 percent indicates that Iran has succeeded to attain industrial scale of producing nuclear fuel," Boroujerdi noted.

Pointing to the issue that Iran has not implemented the additional protocol of the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) since the beginning of 2006, he added that the Majlis had warned IAEA in a ratification if the Board of Governors of the agency refers the nuclear dossier of Iran to UNSC, the Iranian government will be obliged to abandon implementing provisions of the protocol.

The MP noted that according to the aforementioned report, there is no deviation in Iran's nuclear activities, adding that Tehran will continue its nuclear program within the framework of NPT and the safeguard agreement.
