Visiting Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said here Tuesday that enemies wish to wage a new war in the region but they are incapable of doing it.

President Ahmadinejad made the remark while speaking to reporters in response to a question on threats posed by enemies to cause insecurity in the region.

"Our region is full of valuable material and spiritual resources.

Enemies do not want our nation to use the regional resources in their own favor," he said while pointing to interference of enemies and certain bullying powers in regional affairs.

Enemies perpetuate their presence in the region through causing discord among nations, he said, adding, "Enemies should know such a method and policy will not be effective anymore.

"This policy has reached its end. Enemies should end their method."

He recommended the enemies "to listen to our advice and leave the region at the earliest".

"All nations in the region are against presence of the powers," the president said.

Ahmadinejad stressed that enemies could not fight with thoughts of nations, saying they should yield to the will of regional peoples.

President Ahmadinejad arrived in Muscat Monday at the head of a delegation on an official two-day visit. He left Muscat for Tehran Tuesday afternoon.

He paid a visit to Oman after he wound up his two-day visit to the United Arab Emirates.
