Iran-Spokesman-Nuclear
Government spokesman Gholam Hussein Elham said here Tuesday that Iran's nuclear stance is quite clear and transparent.
The spokesman made the statement at this week's press briefing in response to a question about the scheduled talks between SNSC Secretary Ali Larijani and EU Foreign Policy Chief Javier Solana on Wednesday and Europe's insistence on suspension of uranium enrichment by Iran.
"Our nuclear activities are irreversible. Besides, there is no reason to seek an irrational target during the upcoming negotiations," he added.
Replying to a question about the venue of Larijani-Solana talks and that Turkey was selected upon Iran's proposal, he said, "We never interrupted such negotiations to resume them.
Elham said that Iran is committed to fair talks based on justice and internationally acceptable laws, most of which have been approved by Western states.
The spokesman declared the country's readiness for any talks without threats and preconditions.
"We believe that we should enter into talks through a proper channel," said Elham.
