US officials statements on Iran nuclear program, illusory

It is an illusion on part of The US officials that the UN resolution against Iranian nuclear program caused rift between the nation and government, Foreign Ministry spokesman Mohammad Ali Hosseini said on Tuesday.

"Both Iranian nation and government are unanimous about attaining Iranian legitimate rights stipulated in Non-Proliferation Treaty," he said in reaction to US officials statements that the resolution has caused divide between the people and government.

"It is another example of the illusory approach of the US Administration to the international affairs."

He said that unfortunately the US Administration's approach to the international community has originated from unilateral and domineering attitude by making tools of the international organizations to ignore the NPT rights of Iranians and deprive the great nation of development and progress in the field of science and technology.

Hosseini reaffirmed Iranian commitment to NPT and Safeguards Agreement of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and said that the Resolution 1747 will have no effect on Iranian obligations to the non-proliferation treaty and Iranian national resolve focuses on respecting the NPT.

He said that referral of Iranian nuclear program to the UN Security Council had been an unlawful action and the dispute over the national nuclear program should be resolved through negotiations.
