Iran-Ahmadinejad-UNSC
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said here Thursday that the approach of certain world powers disrupts the performance of the United Nations Security Council.
The president made the remark on a tour to Shahid Zarghami Social Welfare Complex in southern Tehran on the second day of the Iranian New Year, Thursday.
"In the first place, such an approach is against the interests of these powers, given that it is contradictory to the laws drawn up by themselves. If these laws are not complied with they would lose their credit," he added.
Turning to the fact that the UNSC should make decisions in the interest of humanity as well as the world peace and security with authority and consciously, he regretted that they only consider their own interests.
"However, they should be aware that the world nations do not have to follow them and that the decisions made by them are not the only option for living a life," said the president.
Turning to Iran's honorable and unique history, he said the powerful, strong and innocent Iranian nation has always continued to restore its rights.
"The history shows that the Iranian nation with its rich civilization and culture can manage to overcome the bottlenecks with honor," said Ahmadinejad.
He referred to the psychological warfare and propaganda launched by the enemies as well as the political pressures exerted and hues and cries created by them, saying that they are aware that in practice they will get nowhere.
"Given that the Iranian nation is familiar with their policies, its decision making is based on unity, solidarity and strength," he added.
