International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Mohamed ElBaradei on Monday confirmed that Iran's nuclear programs over the past four years has been aimed at building up international confidence on its declared activities under IAEA supervision and based on the safeguards agreement.
Turning to the current situation as having resulted in a deadlock, he said that the UN nuclear watchdog has confirmed that Iran has not deviated from its peaceful nuclear path.
"This is despite the fact that we have not yet managed to completely rebuild the history of the country's nuclear programs and some of its details.
"Meanwhile, we have not found any firm proof of any Iranian deviation from the country's peaceful nuclear path in the industrial sector with its use of nuclear technology for purposes of producing nuclea energy," he said.
The IAEA chief said that nonetheless partial tests remain to be conducted which will help clarify the nature and extent of Iran's nuclear activities.
