President: Iran will give appropriate response to global powers

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Thursday that the Islamic Republic of Iran would give proper response to any global powers which might take action against this country.
Addressing a large public meeting in Bandar Anzali, he said, "If you return to the path of righteousness, you will have the friendship of our nation and if you insist on your wrongdoing you will experience humiliation, misery and shame."
The united Iranian nation will stay the course and never yield to their enemies even one iota, said the president.
This great nation, with grace of Almighty God, will never let its legitimate rights to be trampled upon, underlined the president.
President Ahmadinejad arrived in northern Gilan province Tuesday morning on a three-day visit accompanied by Vice President for Executive Affairs Ali Saeedlou and Senior Advisor to the president Mostafa Hashemi Samareh.
The president's current visit is his 25th to the provinces since the start of his initiative of bringing the government closer to the people.
He has visited 16 provincial cities and met local residents, war veterans and families of martyrs over the past three days.
He returns to Tehran later today after presiding over a cabinet session in Rasht, capital of the province, to discuss the province's problems and needs.
