Bahman 22-Rally-Minister
Minister of Defense Mostafa Mohammad-Najjar said on Sunday that Iran has reached a point to produce all facilities needed by the armed forces inside the country by the grace of God and thanks to efforts of Iranian experts.
Mohammad-Najjar was addressing local residents of the southern Iranian city of Bandar Abbas, gathered to mark the 28th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran in 1979.
"Although we cannot announce all our achievements due to security reasons and preventing misuse of enemies, production of different anti-armour and surface-to-surface missiles with warheads and a range of 2,000 km are just parts of our defense capabilities," he said.
He added that every and each of Basiji (voluntary forces) is more valuable for the country than atomic bombs.
He pointed to strong support of the Iranian nation for continuation of peaceful nuclear activities through its massive participation in Bahman 22 rallies and said, "The great rallies of the Iranian nation is a symbol of its determination to achieve development and progress in all fields."
The minister said leadership of the Father of the Islamic Revolution, the late Imam Khomeini, national integrity and religious faith were among main factors behind the Islamic Revolution's victory. He added, "Enemies of independence and freedom of the Iranian nation have targeted these three factors."
He stated that recent threats and propaganda campaign of the US and its allies were a psychological warfare backed by the media imperialism aimed at causing concerns for the Iranian nation and peoples of other regional states.
Mohammad-Najjar stressed Iran's good neighboring and friendly ties with the Persian Gulf littoral states, saying, "The Islamic Republic of Iran always calls for peace, stability and tranquility in the Persian Gulf.
"It believes that negotiations and a constructive interaction will be the only way of establishing sustainable peace and security in the region."
