Larijani: Iran never wants to produce nuclear bomb

"As we have already declared Iran never wants to produce nuclear bomb," Secretary of Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Larijani said on Monday.
Larijani made the remarks in his joint press conference with head of the Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution of Iraq (SCIRI) Abd al-Aziz al-Hakim.
On recent allegations made by French President Jacques Chirac, he said that Iranian nuclear program is civilian and that those who seek to proliferate nuclear weapons never let IAEA inspectors to monitor nuclear sites.
It is very vital for Iran to produce nuclear energy, he said.
On results of Munich conference, he said let's go to Munich and then make comment on it.
He underlined that Iran's nuclear standoff would be resolved through negotiations and such negotiations could be fruitful.
Al-Hakim said for his part that the Iraqi government has conducted wide-scale diplomatic drive to secure freedom of Iranian diplomats kidnapped by US troops from Iranian Consulate in Arbil and expressed the hope that these diplomats would be released soon.
During the joint press conference, the two sides underlined the need to further broaden mutual ties between the two countries.
Iran and Iraq had very good negotiations on restoration of security and stability in Iraq, Larijani said and described Iraq as Iran's natural ally and expressed the hope that grounds for development and security of Iraq would be prepared.
Larijani also expressed the hope that al-Hakim's current visit would be to the benefits of Iraqi nation and government.
Referring to his talks with Iranian officials, Hakim said that Iran's stance before and after fall of Saddam was positive and underlined that Tehran supports Iraqi government.
