Tehran, Jan 21, IRNA
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said here Sunday that access to nuclear technology is long-term goal and sacred cause of the Islamic Revolution.
The president made the remarks while outlining the proposed budget bill for the Iranian fiscal year of 1386 (to start on March 21, 2007).
The government has adopted active approaches in its foreign policy, he said adding that a nuclear Iran would change the status of the country on the global scene and would tilt the existing equation in international relations. "With reliance on Almighty God no one can prevent us from attaining such a success," he said.
"Making use of nuclear technology has been turned into our national will and all free and independent nations around the globe will support the idea," he said.
"It is quite natural for our enemies to oppose our success," he said, adding "Our enemies have always opposed our developments." "Our enemies are quite sure that they cannot deal a blow to us from outside and their only hope is to infiltrate the close ranks of our people," he underlined.
The enemy psychological warfare is doomed to failure although they try to pretend that they are invincible. But the fact is that hey have been defeated and humiliated by the Iranian nation, he said.
Referring to the enemies threats of attacking Iran last year simultaneous with commissioning of UCF installations in Isfahan, he said these are baseless hue and cry.
"Our enemies assumed that not going to the United Nations Security Council was our red line but they do not know that our red line is nuclear energy itself and the importance of the issue has been underlined by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
"Our enemies are very angry and seek to shock the society through creation of opportunities for their blind followers inside the country after UNSC sanctions against Iran," he said.
"By the grace to Almighty God and support of the Iranian nation and Majlis we did not give up even one iota of the nation's rights," he said.
Given the defeats of the occupation forces in Iraq, Lebanon, Palestine and Afghanistan, he said the enemies of Islam are doomed to failure due to the firm determination of nations.
"My recent visit to three Latin American countries proved that we are not isolated but they themselves have no popularity among nations," said the president.
The Iranian nation has successfully isolated its enemies particularly the US before world public opinion, he said, adding that the American and British leaders have been isolated not only among regional and neighboring states but also among their own people.
"We are determined to strongly follow our nuclear policy and our recent agreements with the latin American countries and other states was in fact a big 'no' to global sanctions against Iran.
We proved that such sanctions would be futile," said the president.
