Supreme Leader's Advisor on International Affairs Ali Akbar Velayati said on Thursday that the UNSC anti-Iran resolution will have no impact on national nuclear program.

In an exclusive interview with IRNA, he said the resolution was not unexpected for Iran adding that the fate of national nuclear program has nothing to do with issuance or non-issuance of such resolutions.

"The resolution cannot prevent us from our research and development (R&D) program and we will go ahead with science and technology," he said.

The recent UNSC's measure was the outcome of lobbying of western countries mainly US and Britain which advocate more political and economic pressures on Iran, he underlined.

The UNSC has adopted double-standard policy in dealing with Iran's nuclear program, he said adding that the resolution was issued when Israel had admitted having nuclear arms while Iran has reaffirmed commitment to NPT.

"Since the outset of Islamic Revolution, we never hesitate to safeguards our legitimate rights and will do so," he said.

"On probable threats of western countries, he said our goal in nuclear program is in line with Safeguards Agreement of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). So, we never yield to such threats," he said.

Such measures cannot deviate us from our national goal, he added.

He called Majlis decision calling for revising cooperation with IAEA as example of national solidarity on nuclear program adding that representatives of the people in Majlis support the program by passing such a bill.

Since the nation are united, there is no room for any concern, he concluded.
