Iran-Nuclear-Larijani
Iran's Secretary of Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Larijani said on Thursday that the probable UNSC resolution incapable of exerting any pressure on the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Speaking to reporters after his meeting with Pakistani Foreign Minister Khurshid Kasuri, he said if they issue resolution on Iran, they should know that it will be useless although the country will give a proper response to such a move.
The measure only exacerbates the situation, he said adding that if they issue the resolution, a new situation would be created for Iran.
Iran had signed Additional Protocol to Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) which gives intrusive intrusive inspection to International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), but, suspended it as soon as the EU-3 states shifted gear and referred Iran to the Security Council.
Iran has made it clear that it respects NPT and Safeguards Agreement of the UN nuclear agency.
Calling the measure as irrational, he said under such
circumstances, the Islamic Republic of Iran would reconsider its cooperation with IAEA in other sectors.
UNSC resolution against Iran's peaceful nuclear program is not an important document, he underlined.
"During the savage atrocities of the Zionist in Lebanon, the UNSC did not issue any resolution to condemn Israel but after Israeli defeat they issued a resolution which was not of importance," he said.
UNSC did not take any action to deal with Israeli nuclear weapons admission of its ringleader Olmert but they have are passing resolution against Iran's peaceful nuclear program, he said.
They do not mind whether our nuclear program is of civilian or non-civilian nature, they only seek to deprive Iran of nuclear energy, he said.
