Majlis Speaker Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel here Sunday praised the outstanding stance of Iran in its nuclear standoff with the West.
Haddad-Adel was addressing local residents of Khash city on the second day of a three-day tour of this southeastern province.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran will celebrate a nuclear victory before the end of the current Iranian year (March 20, 2007)," he said.
"Tehran's insistence on its inalienable nuclear right is a matter of justice, but certain proud countries would deprive it of its right in order to continue their brutalities and materialize selfish ends." He said the upcoming local council and Assembly of Experts elections will be decisive and "unprecedented" in significance, and urged the people to take the event seriously and with a sense of urgency. The elections are to be held simultaneously on December 15.
The speaker expressed confidence the great Iranian nation would bring another laurel for the Islamic system through massive participation.
He said that "the government today is striving to materialize justice in real terms throughout the country (because) progress cannot be achieved piecemeal."
He said the government and authorities have the sworn duty to observe justice in all aspects of the nation's life."
"Today the Iranian nation enjoys dignity and honor in the global community, in the Islamic world in particular, thanks to the Islamic Revolution," he said, and reminded that this dignity is a gift of the Islamic Revolution.
Haddad-Adel said that the enemies of Islam will not desist from their efforts to cause discord among Muslims through the use of divisive tactics, and warned Iranians not to be deceived.
The enemies of Islam have artifically created a state called Israel in the heart of Islamic land and are pursuing a policy of ethnic cleansing of Palestinians, he said.
"They have pitted Shi'ites against Sunnis in order to destroy the solidarity of Muslims...But there are no divisions in the way of defense of Islam, the Islamic Revolution and the Islamic system." He said that "great scientific progress has been achieved by the Islamic Republic of Iran which is a source of great hope for the Islamic world."
The speaker expressed Iran's support for the Palestinian Islamic resistance movement, Hamas, the Lebanese Hezbollah and the world's Muslims for their defense of Islam and the Islamic world.
