President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Ulema and clergymen had an effective role in establishment of his government.

In a gathering of prayer leaders of Tehran province mosques here on Saturday evening, the president told the clergymen " Many of you had an effective role in establishment of the government, you recommended, believers prayed and we intend to do several important and basic works in this concern.

Among these works are; constructing the country, administrating justice, campaigning against corruptions, active participating in the world scene, defending nation's rights, safeguarding the Islamic culture, installing Islamic banking system, fighting against state corruption and adjusting administrative structure and decreasing inflation.

The president said the idea of not helping mosques is a 'deviational idea', which we should try to destroy it.

The idea says mosques must be built and supported only by people and not by government.

Ahmadinejad added, "We have around 60,000 mosques in the country some of which are destroying and we intend to do something for them in our planning."

He continued the first intention of the government is building the country upon justice, because the first step is monotheism and the second one is administering justice and that many use the word of justice, but when it comes to them, oppose it.

Ahmadinejad pointed out, "We are trying to establish an Islamic banking system and we know there would be a lot of resistance against any development."

He said former governments could absorb 25 to 30 percent of developmental budget during the first half of the year while, today, the statistics shows 67 percent of the budget has been spent and the 100 percent of the budget will have been spent by December 21, 2006.
