Iran-Asefi-Veto
Iran called on all member states of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to defend Tehran's legitimate right on nuclear issue, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hamid-Reza Asefi said on Sunday.

"Defending Iran (at UNSC) is equal to defending the truth, the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and its nuclear safeguards and the legitimate rights of all states for obtaining access to peaceful nuclear technology," Asefi told domestic and foreign reporters at his weekly press conference.

As for the possibility that Russia and China would, as two veto-wielding states of the UNSC, veto any possible sanctions against Iran at the the council, Asefi said, "We will use all our political and diplomatic potentials to solve the (Iran nuclear) case through the right path."

As for the report on resignation of the British Prime Minister Tony Blair within the next year, Asefi said, in his last appearance to the press as the Foreign Ministry spokesman, "We have no problem with individuals, but with the policies."
