IRI Government Spokesman Gholam-Hossein Elham reacted here on Wednesday to 'angry and unrealistic remarks' made by US President George W. Bush about President Ahmadinejad.
Rejecting all allegations made by Bush, Elham said, "It is clear that all those remarks are made to serve political purposes inside the United States, but the other side of the coin is that using that literature is insulting both the US Iranian nations."
According to Presidential Office Media Department, the world media quoted the US President George W. Bush on Wednesday as saying that if the United States wishes to have good relations with the Iranian nation, it should yield to the will and demands of the Iranians." Elham said that in mentality of the Islamic Republic of Iran, all world nations, including the Americans, are respectable and worth being honored, adding, "The Iranian nation's logic is clear: we are opposed to the language of force, aggression, and violating other governments and nations' rights."
He said, "We favor the establishment of peace and warding off tensions based on the rules of justice, under such conditions that the dignity of world nations would be fully respected, and we are sorry that the US President has in his address in various occasions committed grave mistakes in expressing his opinion about Iran." Elham reiterated, "The Iranian nation believes relying on mutual understanding, sound reasoning, pure logic, and rationalism, it is possible to find better ways for governance in the world and to leave behind the era of threats, occupation, and aggressive approaches."
