Ahmadinejad Says Bush 'Nothing' Compared To God's Will

September 6, 2006 -- In an apparent response to critics from his U.S. counterpart, Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadinejad today said George W. Bush was "nothing in comparison to God's will."

Addressing a religious conference in Tehran, Ahmadinejad also warned Bush he would be "mistaken" if he thought he was "governing the world from a glass palace."

Bush on September 5 called Iran's leaders "tyrants" and likened them to members of the Al-Qaeda terrorist network who should not be allowed to develop a nuclear weapon.

Iranian Foreign Minister Manuchehr Mottaki today urged the West in general, and the United States in particular, to stop using what he called "the language of threat" when dealing with Tehran.

"The time of using the language of threat has passed, and they (Western countries) should put aside these old and abolished methods," he said. "Constructive and transparent talks are the most suitable way for resolving any issue that is on their mind."

Mottaki's comments echoed other remarks made by Ahmadinejad today, in which he accused Bush of seeking to "solve world affairs by using force and weapons."

Ahmadinejad added: "This era is over, we are now is the era of thought, logic, and culture."
