President: Peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear program acceptable to world public opinion

Tehran, Aug 29, IRNA
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad here Tuesday said that the peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear activities is acceptable to the world public opinion.

Ahmadinejad made the remark in response to a question about the way to assure the public opinion of the peaceful nature of the country's nuclear issues.

The president said that this has been confirmed by 114 member states of UN, OIC (57), ECO (11) and G8 (eight).

"Therefore, some parties should not presume themselves as equivalent to the world community with a population of 6.190 billion.

"However, such parties intend to misuse their victory in the World War II, despite the fact that its era has expired, given that even if there is something that has been recorded, it is of no use considering the approach of these countries," he added.

Ahmadinejad said that rather than using the UN tools to establish tranquility in Lebanon, they were used against Iran, adding that their approach should aim to build up the confidence of world nations, given the gravity of mistrust throughout the world.

"While the Lebanese people were subject to harshest and most unjust attacks, the UN Security Council's resolution was rejected by them.

"At the same time, a resolution was issued against Iran, which we believe is an imperial approach and should be eliminated from human relationship," said the president.
